We use Sunflower seed oil to infuse St. John's Wort. This particular infusion is made from the flowering tops and leaves of the Hypericum perforatum plant. It is present in many first-aid preparations. The active ingredient in St. John's Wort oil is believed to be Hypericin. This is found in the highest concentrations in the leaves and petals of the plant. Hypercin is known as a psychotropic activator of neuronal metabolism. When taken orally this is what gives it mood lifting properties. This is why it makes it so wonderful for nerve pain such as neuralgia, sciatica and for some rheumatic type pain. St. John’s Wort also has anti-inflammatory properties which makes it useful for any wounds where there is nerve tissue damage or inflamed nerve conditions.

Arnica is an herb belonging to the Sunflower family. Arnica montana contains Sesquiterpene Lactone (reaction inducing chemical) known as Helenalin. It is a major ingredient in many anti-inflammatory preparations used for bruises, strains and sprains. The Thymol derivatives in the plant have been clinically shown to be effective vasodilators for blood capillaries. This is part of the way that Arnica assists the normal healing processes by facilitating transport of blood and fluid accumulations through the vessels.  Like our St. John’s Wort, our Arnica is triple infused in sesame seed oil to make our preparation 3 times stronger than most infused oils.  The other ingredients in our formula are 100% pure essential oils.

Research at the Wheeling Jesuit University has shown that Cinnamon boosts the activity of the brain. This makes it helpful for easing nervous tension and decreasing memory loss. Of course, this wasn’t the reason we chose cinnamon for our product. Cinnamon aids in the circulation of blood, and this helps significantly with removing pain. Good blood circulation ensures oxygen supply to damaged cells. Antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic properties make it effective for external as well as internal infections. Cinnamon is also an anti-inflammatory. This helps in relieving pain and stiffness of muscle and joints which is associated with arthritis.

Clary Sage oil has great benefits for easing depression and nervous burn-out. Clary Sage is a biennial herb native southern Europe. It was known in the Middle Ages as 'Oculus Christi' - the 'Eye of Christ' and was a highly esteemed medicine. Clary Sage oil relaxes damaged, irritated nerves. Other therapeutic properties of Clary Sage oil include antidepressant, anticonvulsive, antispasmodic, antiseptic, bactericidal, hypotensive, and nerve tonic. It is also good for muscle pains, kidney diseases and the cooling of inflammation of the skin.

Ginger essential oil is extracted from the plant Zingiber officinale and is used to cure several health problems. Ginger is also used to treat bruises, arthritis, rheumatism, nerve pain and fractures It has very strong anti-inflammatory properties, but the uses of ginger don’t end there. It is used quite commonly for nausea and sea sickness. This makes it helpful to assist with the nausea that many times is associated with severe pain.

Juniper Berry oil is distilled from the dried ripe berries of the Juniper Evergreen tree. Juniper berries are a mild diuretic making it helpful to ease swelling caused by inflammation. Juniper essential oil also promotes elimination of uric acid making it useful in treatment of gout and rheumatoid arthritis, bursitis, nerve pain and just general aches and pains.

Sweet Marjoram, the herb most commonly known for its use as a cooking spice, is very therapeutic when extracted as an essential oil. It is used for colds, coughs, muscle aches, nervous tension and insomnia. Its medical properties include analgesic, antispasmodic, vasodilator, calming sedative and hypotensive. It dilates the arteries, affecting the tiny capillary vessels just beneath the skin producing a feeling of warmth which helps tired, tight and painful muscles. It helps clear the muscles of toxic waste and helps to reduce the pain or arthritis and rheumatism. Marjoram is in the mint family and was known to the Romans as the "Herb of Happiness". In the modern world we have also found marjoram to be antibacterial and antifungal. It has been used for muscle, nerve pain, arthritis, rheumatism, headaches, circulatory disorders, ringworm, shingles, sores, spasms and fluid retention. Sweet Marjoram is an oil that possesses an ability to both strengthen and relax. In Oriental medicine, Marjoram tones and circulates, and calms the mind.

Birch essential oil contains methyl salicylate which is similar to the salicylic acid found in Aspirin.  It has proven to have antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is also a good analgesic and anesthetic. It is used for muscle, nerve pain, arthritis, rheumatism, tendonitis, ulcers, cellulite, hypertension, hepatitis, gout, ulcers and broken or bruised bones. Sweet Almond oil is primarily added for its pleasant scent and helps blend the other oils.
