I have established the Garden of Health, Inc. to help further my mission.

As I look back on my life, I realize that good health is the most precious treasure there is. It cannot be borrowed, bought or stolen. I will never forget that awful, fateful day 36 years ago when I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes…and because of my stupidity, I took my health for granted and ignored my doctor’s orders, which led to horrible health problems. Before the age of 30, I was totally blind, suffered two major heart attacks, organ failure, and had a date with dialysis for 66 months three times a week, three hours a day. In 1991, I underwent an experimental dual organ transplant at the Medical University of South Carolina, where my kidney and pancreas were replaced. The pancreas had never been transplanted before and no one knew what to expect. Sadly, the pancreas was rejected and had to be removed immediately, leaving me on the verge of death. In 1999, I needed another kidney transplant and in 2001 I received another pancreas.

Despite all of these complications, I never once lost my faith in God. I am the only survivor out of nine participants from the experimental dual transplant, and though my sight was taken I was blessed with a vision. Because of my experiences, I am a better person and I am able to give a testimonial to people of all ages on how important it REALLY is to eat a well balanced diet, exercise, and follow the guidelines their physician has provided to the letter. Being able to prevent even a single person from going down the path I walked will make all my trials worthwhile. I am so blessed to be alive and living well, and helping others has given me a new outlook on life…combined, they make me feel like I am the picture of health. Since my life was spared so many times, I’ve reached the conclusion that I am still here in order to share my story and spread the word. This company will allow me to do just that, and I hope to help many along the way
